My Sweet Baby Boy

I'm sorry for the lack of posts this month; a certain someone has been much more demanding of my time lately...not that I am complaining.  That cute little face has me wrapped around his finger.

Maximus James is five and a half months old now and a whopping 20 pounds!
He is one big, happy boy.  Maximus has been our sweetest baby yet
...or at least that I can remember.  He is always smiling.

He slept most of the first 3 months of life and then decided to wake up to the world.  Now, this boy
is in constant motion!  Whether he is flapping his arms, kicking his feet, arching backwards,
rolling everywhere or grabbing everything within reach, Maximus does not sit still.  He is
hard to hold sometimes because he is literally jumping out of your arms. I think we will
be in major trouble once this little man learns how to walk!

(I know this is sideways...sorry, but don't you love all his rolls!)

Not only is he getting more mobile these days, but he is getting more vocal too.  He went from making smacking noises by sucking on his lips to cooing to high-pitched screams of delight.

One thing is for sure...this baby is not lacking any love or affection!  The girls still can't get enough of him.  Paul is constantly reminding them to stay out of his face and not smother him to death!

Rose likes to hold him for short spurts throughout the day.  Lately she will lay on the floor, put him on her knees and "scare" him.  He laughs and laughs.  She probably makes him laugh the most.  And you can always find Rose singing to him (usually a song she makes up) anytime he starts to cry.

Of all the girls, he definitely loves Ava best.  She just has a way with him...a motherliness that he can detect.  My favorite thing she does is sling his big chubby baby body on her hip and walk around like it is nothing.  She really has this mothering thing down.

Madeline is the first one to ask to hold him every morning.  If it is not her turn to be first, she throws a little fit...every morning.  She wants SO badly to be allowed to stand up with him.  She is counting down the months until she is six so she can hold him standing up.  He is just so big and squirmy, I can't bring myself to let her.

Ella has been so sweet to Max even though he bumped her out of her spot as baby of the family.  It seems she has grown up so much since he came along.  I guess that is the way it goes.  She holds him all of 30 seconds when it is her turn and is vigilant that he does not put anything in his mouth that he shouldn't.

And here are some of my favorite pictures of my little man:
The girls are dressing him up already!

Sporting a bowtie and no pants...only a baby can pull that off!

I love the baby vs. couch pictures.  It shows how tiny they really are!

So serious

Happy to be sitting up in his Bumbo

In deep thought as he sleeps

Always happy outside (he is a Klinker after all!)

Rockin' baby shades

The precious smile I get to see all day

First time sitting in a highchair at a restaurant

Helping Mommy prepare dinner

Paul and his mini-me
He looks a little like me, right? right?!

Not a great pic, but here is Maximus G. holding Maximus K.  If our Max turns
out to be anything like him...we are in BIG trouble!!!  :)

It is so fun having a little boy around!  Maximus has brought so much joy to our family these last 5 months.  I am soaking up every moment of it because I know the baby stage goes by way too fast.

We love you, Maximus James!!!
