Max Becomes a Child of God

Maximus was baptized last Sunday, May 25th, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish in Carmel, IN.  He was supposed to be baptized by Fr. David Rasner, one of my dad's best friends from high school, but there was a mix up in communication and he didn't show up.  With 36 people waiting on us, we had to think of something quickly.  My dad walked over to the rectory to see if anyone could help us out.  Luckily Fr. David Huemmer was there and was kind enough to come over and fill in for Fr. Rasner.

Fr. Huemmer was wonderful!  He used to be an elementary school teacher, so he was great with all the kids.  He had them all come right up to the holy water font so they could see better and explained everything that was going on throughout the ceremony.

I had to add this picture, because I love that everyone is holding babies.  It is a good representation of what it looks
like when the Tituses get together.

After the baptism, we all went into the lower level for cake and presents.

Not only is May 25th a special date because it is Max's baptism anniversary, but it is also Amanda's birthday and my sister Madeline and daughter Madeline's feast day!  Thanks for sharing your special day with Max!

We are very blessed to have all our family surrounding us on Max's special day!

Amanda's Book Bridal Shower

Anyone who knows Amanda, knows she is an avid reader.  From the time she was little, she has loved to read.  You would often find her stashed in a corner somewhere or cuddled up on the couch reading a book.  And lately she has become quite the bibliophile (I just learned that word...it means someone who collects books :)  She especially loves small local bookstores and searches for old hardback copies of the classics.

She loves books so much that Chris proposed to her in her favorite local bookstore in Virginia!  It couldn't have been more perfect for her!

So when we (when I say we, I mostly mean Mom, Olivia, and Madeline..I didn't have a big part in this one because I was busy having a baby and all :) started planning her bridal shower, a book theme was a no brainer!  Like usual, my mom scoured the internet for ideas and came up with some pretty good ones, if I do say so myself!  Her eye for detail sure makes her parties pretty spectacular!

The invitations...how awesome are they?!

We had tons of fun with the food!  All the treats were based on the name of a book.  Pretty clever, huh?!

One of the best treats :)

Another hilarious take on a book title

Amanda's wedding is going to have a vintage theme, so we also tied in some vintage inspired decorations.

Amanda and Chris love Scrabble and play it together often, so when Alexandria (a sister-in-law) saw a Scrabble quilt on Pinterest, we knew we had to make it for them.  Grandma (the master quilt-maker) helped Olivia cut out squares, all the sisters and sister-in-laws helped paint the letters, and Olivia sewed it all together.  Didn't it turn out awesome?!

It was an awesome shower and an awesome time to celebrate the bride to be!  Can't wait for July 26th!!!
