Lake Patoka 2014

We took our annual lake trip with the Klinkers the week of the 4th of July.  First we met up at a small water park in Clarksville, IN right over the bridge from Louisville. There were a few water slides, a wave pool and a kiddy area...it was the perfect size for our kids.

We had gorgeous weather that day...not too hot and a little overcast.  It was so nice that I didn't put sunscreen on and got fried on the first day!  Typical Danielle mistake!

We hung out that evening back at the cabin we rented near Lake Patoka.  Ken and Joy made a delicious dinner then we had Bingo games going and lots of musical shows by the little girls :)

The next morning, after breakfast, we all got ready for a day on the boat.  We rented our usual double-decker pontoon boat with a slide...the girls' favorite.  We had another beautiful day!  We ended up staying on the boat until about 4:00 and the girls still didn't want to leave!

Breakfast helpers...super Ella with her paci and Julia with her sweet hair :)

Julia and Ella got a lot more confident in the water as the day went on.  They both started out holding on tight to their daddies and by the end of the day they were swimming around by themselves like little fish.

The girls did a little tubing too.  The pontoon boat is just their speed!

Boating must make people hungry because we seemed to eat all day long on the boat...it was great!  We brought a picnic lunch with plenty of snacks and drinks to keep everybody happy.

The next day, before we all headed our separate ways, we met for lunch at a pizza joint then headed to this beautiful hotel in French Lick, IN.

Godfather and goddaughter

We walked around exploring a bit, then took some family photos in the gorgeous garden outside.

Grandpa and Grandma with their 7 grandchildren

Then we headed home with lots of tired and cranky children...a trade off we are willing to make in order to have a fun week with some Klinkers!  Already can't wait until next year!
